About us

Applied Mathematical Ecology Group (AMEG) is a team of quantitative researchers based at QUT. We use applied mathematics to better understand, model, and manage ecosystems and their connections with the human communities who depend on them. A combination of maths and ecology allows us to tackle larger, more complex, and more uncertain environmental challenges.

Our research aims to improve ecosystem outcomes – for species, for people, and for sustainability. We are applied mathematicians who borrow concepts from ecology, economics, physics, and social sciences. Our group includes multiple academics who collaborate, co-supervise students, and work on similar methods towards shared goals.

We always welcome visitors and potential collaborators. To see what we work on, please check out the links on our people page. Feel free to email any of us via the contact details on each website.
